How these probabilities are derived. They come from the engine's
own bivariate Poisson score matrix with the Dixon-Coles low-score correction — the same matrix the match
pages show, computed once by the engine rather than re-derived here. Probabilities, not promises: no outcome
is ever certain.
Frequently asked questions
What does BTTS mean?
BTTS ("both teams to score") is a market on whether each side scores at least once. The probabilities here are derived from the model’s published expected goals per team.
How are the BTTS probabilities calculated?
From the engine’s bivariate Poisson score matrix with the Dixon-Coles low-score correction, which is the same matrix the match pages show. The BTTS probability is the total mass of every scoreline where both teams scored. Treating the two teams as independent would understate it, because the correction adds weight to low-scoring and drawn scorelines.
